
Meet Dr. Leah Benjamin
(formerly Dr. Leah Ramsaran) DVM, DACT, Board-Certified TheriogenologistDr. Leah Benjamin joined North Oatlands Animal Hospital in October 2026, bringing specialized expertise and a passion for small animal reproductive medicine to pets and their families throughout the Leesburg community.
Dr. Benjamin earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University in 2023. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC, before returning to Cornell University for a residency in Comparative Theriogenology. In 2026, Dr. Benjamin became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists (DACT), earning board certification in theriogenology.
Her clinical interests include all aspects of small animal reproduction, with a particular focus on breeding management, genetic preservation, and infertility management. Dr. Benjamin is dedicated to helping pet owners and breeders navigate the reproductive process with personalized guidance, advanced expertise, and compassionate care.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Benjamin enjoys cooking, sculpting, reading, and hiking. At home, she loves spending time with her dog and cat.
